We are pleased to inform you that Sofía Bernasconi, a former student of our Department of Fine Arts, has been selected to exhibit her work "También somos una cortina de cordeles" (We are also a curtain of strings) in the "MAVI UC Larraín Vidal Young Art Award" exhibition in Santiago. Her work, chosen from over 200 submissions, is one of the 46 selected pieces and the sole representative from the Biobío Region. This piece is a video installation that reflects on the body-technology condition, proposing new ways of understanding the body from a transhumanist perspective. It presents corporeality as a hybrid, volatile, and tensioned framework. The work, created in 2019, involved the collaboration of Dayano in sound design and Caterina Riquelme in performance.
