Abstract
"Submersions" is a video installation that contemplates the relationship between the body and technology from a cyborg perspective. Through five antiquated televisions and DVDs, the installation portrays three individuals immersed in water. Here, water serves as a unifying element, bridging the organic and inorganic realms, erasing the boundaries of the skin and extending into the technological dimension of the devices. The artifacts are meticulously arranged on a metal structure, laying bare the cables and connections essential to the functioning of the installation. Each television emits its own soundtrack, contributing to an organic soundscape that evolves as the videos, each of varying durations, play out of sync. In this immersive experience, the body transforms into water, cable, metal, screen, DVD, sound, and plastic, seamlessly merging the physical and technological dimensions. -
