With a few minutes of delay and minor technical problems, the list of the 2020 Ceres Awards was announced yesterday through the contest's virtual Facebook Live.

There were 20 lucky winners in the five categoriesand subcategories that comprise the award, whose works and creations will be disseminated through a novel online initiative. "This is a new way to support and disseminate the creation and winning creators of the Ceres 2020 Awards, with a virtual catalog that will soon be launched and put online on our website," said Susana Lépez, executive director of Ceres.

Thus, in Literature the winners were: "Aguas cercenadas", by Daniela Guerrero (Poetry); "Procesos escriturales, Mujeres de puño y letra", by Angela Neira-Muñoz and Angela Rivera (Essay); "Viajeros. Antología Chilena de Ciencia Ficción", by Editorial Ignición - Varios Autores (Narrative); "La ciudad de la fruta", by Leyla Selman (Playwriting).

Visual Arts awarded prizes to Rodrigo Piracés for "Versobjeto" (Sculpture); Manuel Morales for "Alta esfera" (Photography); Paulo Cuello for "La poética del carbón" (Engraving & Drawing); Andrea Mahnke for "Portada e ilustraciones para la revista Illustrati de Logos Edizioni" (Illustration); Luis Almendra for "Lunático esplendor" (Painting); and Natascha de Cortillas for "Caldo de cultivo" (Media Arts). In the Performing Arts category, the winners were "Campo de batalla, ruinas de Estocolmo", by the company Teatrhoy (Theater), and "Püllü", by Tékufënn Danza Butoh (Dance).

The Musical Arts recognized Alejandro Gallegos for "Aljibe de madera" (Docta); Cecilia Gutiérrez for "Giro" (Jazz); Motri for "Urbe II" (Electronic); Ala Vorágine for "Ala Vorágine" (Folkloric Roots); and Inilia for "Autómatas" (Popular).

And to close, in the category of Visual Arts, Ceres awarded "Las voces del trueno", by Maickol Morales and Vairon Vidal (Documentary); "Mujer/Flor de Guayaba", by Sofía Fernández and Cuatro Ojos Audiovisuales (Videoclip); andUnravel", from Sofía Bernasconi. "Congratulations to all the winners and their works, but also congratulations to all the works and nominees, to those who applied, which in total were 249 works and creations. It should be noted that all the works were of very high quality," concluded Lépez.
